H100 Bulk Density Meter

Category:

The H100 natural accumulation density meter is designed and manufactured to GB/T 16913-2008. It measures bulk density by natural accumulation: dust falls freely from a funnel at a fixed height to fill a cylinder. Bulk density is the mass of dust per unit volume in the loose state.

Scope and principle

Scope Designed to GB/T 16913-2008. Used to measure bulk density by natural accumulation.
Principle Dust falls freely from the funnel at a fixed height until the cylinder is full; the mass per unit volume in the loose state is the bulk density.

Apparatus

Funnel Outlet diameter Ø12.7 mm, stainless steel (304), cone angle 60° ±0.5°.
Stopper rod Stainless steel (304), used to hold the powder in the funnel while filling.
Balance (optional) Maximum capacity 1 kg, readability 0.02 g.
Cylinder 100 mL stainless steel (304) cylinder, inner diameter Ø39 mm.
Scraper Stainless steel (304), used to remove excess powder when filling the funnel.

Test procedure

  • A. Assemble the apparatus on the bench and level it;
  • B. Close the funnel outlet with the stopper and load the sample into the feed cylinder;
  • C. Remove the stopper so the dust falls freely into the lower cylinder. After the funnel is empty, scrape off the heap above the cylinder;
  • D. Weigh the cylinder with dust;
  • E. Calculate and report the result.
